Riding for the Disabled Association of Australia (RDAA) is a voluntary, nonprofit organisation which provides opportunities for anyone with a disability to enjoy safe, healthy, stimulating, therapeutic, horse-related activities in Australia.

The 2009 Journal will be dedicated to university and college students all over the world. FRDI is inviting students to send in abstracts of their studies, research and work in the field of Equine Assisted Activities. Please submit a one page abstract in English to the editor Sanna Mattila-Rautiainen sanna.mattila@saunalahti.fi
Format for the abstract: MS Word document, Times Roman, Font 12. Any images should be in jpeg format. Include your contact information and the university, college or school you are attending. RDAA is delighted to announce the election of Pauline Perry as the new President of FRDI (Federation of Riding for the Disabled International) at the FRDI XIII International Congress in Munster 12-15 August, 2009.
Pauline is a valued member of RDA Australia and was awarded an honorary Life Membership of RDA in 2008. She will serve as FRDI President from 2009-2012. We wish her every success in her latest appointment. Read the full story here.
RDAA is delighted to announce a new initiative. The PETstock Foundation has generously agreed to sponsor a dedicated 'Young Coach Development Program'.
This program is aimed at young aspiring RDA Coaches aged 17-25 years who wish to develop a more in-depth knowledge and understanding of RDA and what it means to be an RDA Coach.
Participation on this program will also help fast track young coaches towards the next level of RDA accreditation.
Young coaches must be nominated by their local RDA Centres to their State Office. There are a limited number of places on this dedicated course. For further information click here
RDA Australia is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a grant of 100,000 from the Ian Potter Foundation towards its National Coach Development Program.
This grant will provide the maximum benefit to all RDA
Australia’s members by helping to:
- address the chronic shortage of trained, accredited RDA coaches
- increase the number of clients able to participate in RDA programs
- improve children’s outcomes through early intervention programs
- reduce client waiting lists

The Cartmill RDA Centre at Burpengary was devastated by recent heavy rains and flooding in SE Queensland. Three horses were lost to flood waters but one miraculous survivor, Holly the pony was found alive, washed up downstream. The Centre has lost everything and needs your help!
