Pegasus RDA - Riding Develops Abilities

Pegasus RDA ACT

'Enriching the lives of people of all abilities through relationships with horses'

Pegasus Riding for the Disabled of the ACT is a not-for-profit community organisation that provides equestrian activities for people with a disability.

The organisation serves a dual function of a state association and a local RDA centre. At present there is one full time RDA centre in the ACT which operates out of Pegasus Farm on the outskirts of Canberra. About 100 riders with a disability and twenty riders without disabilities ride at Pegasus each week. Over 150 volunteers assist with the operation of our programs.

Our riding lessons are based on an individualized program that is developed for each rider. All riders are assessed as they enter the program and activities are planned by our qualified coaches to meet each rider’s individual needs. Rider’s progress is constantly monitored and they are provided with plenty of opportunities to progress in their riding and achieve their goals.

In addition to our sporting, recreational and riding therapy programs, we are also accredited to offer:
