"I found something I CAN do amongst so many things I CAN'T do"

My name is Dean Johnston.  I'm fortunate to have been an RDA rider and a volunteer at RDA Harkaway and Oaklands in Victoria.
I'm grateful to have experienced the organisation from two perspectives to truly appreciate what you do.  It's just wonderful.  I wish I could do more with you.

"He openly talks about how comfortable he feels at RDA and even went to the RDA Christmas Social Event and loved it."

It was not long after Nathan’s diagnosis of Autism that a friend told us about RDA and encouraged us to give them a ring. We had had no contact with horses prior to this but we were willing to give it a go as Nathan’s special interest is animals. To say that it has been a success is an understatement.

"At first he was a shy little boy who hardly spoke, but now he chatters away and gives good, strong voice commands to his pony Rusty"

Tobias has spina bidifia which makes it difficult for him to walk properly. Spina bidifia is characterised by a defective closure of vertebral (spinal) column, a common cause is lack of folate. There is no cure for the condition, and currently it occurs in 1 in every 1000 pregnancies.
