Riding for the Disabled Association Australia Limited is a
public
company limited by guarantee. The company currently has 6 Executive Directors and delegates from each State. (a) The objects of the Company are to:(i) encourage, promote, support and assist the Members to provide Riding for the Disabled and to foster opportunities for integration with the broader equestrian community;(ii) unite the State Associations, Centres and Individual Members in the furtherance of these Objects;(iii) promote mutual trust and confidence between the Company and the Members in pursuit of these Objects;(iv) at all times act in the interests of the Members and Riding for the Disabled;(v) be the national governing body for Riding for the Disabled and be recognised as such by the Australian Paralympic Committee, Federation of Riding for the Disabled International, Australian Sports Commission, Australian Government, and the Australian Community;(vi) remain the only Australian member of the Federation of Riding for the Disabled International;(vii) manage international responsibilities, including managing responsibilities to, and liaising with, the Federation of Riding for the Disabled International and the Australian Paralympic Committee;(viii) liaise with other bodies, including international and national bodies, that have an interest in the treatment and well being of people with a disability;(ix) determine standards in safety, training, horse management and Riding for the Disabled;(x) endeavour to conduct Riding for the Disabled in a manner which is safe for participants, officials, spectators and horses;(xi) provide training and training materials and services for Riding for the Disabled coaches and volunteers;(xii) provide and maintain such facilities and equipment as may be required by and for the purposes of the Company;(xiii) act as the coordinating body for the Members to provide a forum for the exchange of information and ideas for the betterment of the Company and Riding for the Disabled generally;(xiv) do all that is necessary to enable these Objects to be achieved and to enable the Members to receive the benefits which these Objects are intended to achieve; and(xv) do all such things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of these Objects or any of them.Executive Directors: Chairperson - Philip Walliker Treasurer - Ken Peters Corporate Affairs - Ken Dagley Program Delivery - Val Mayger Public Relations - Vanessa Little State Liaison - Gary Guiver
